The mission of the Accreditation Council is quality assurance: serving future clinicians and the public by accrediting programs in Ayurvedic medicine that demonstrate they meet or exceed the profession’s standards.

Program News

We are very pleased to announce that the following schools and professional education programs have successfully advanced to candidacy status. Candidacy for Accreditation is granted to programs that have satisfied eligibility requirements and show substantial compliance with the Council’s accreditation standards and policies at a level that is reasonable for the program’s stage of development.

Announcements

Applications for Accreditation Now Being Accepted

Deadline Extended

We have extended the waiver of the Eligibility application and the $1,500 fee through March 2023 for those interested in applying for pre-accreditation Candidacy status. The Eligibility application is the first step in the accreditation process before advancing to Candidacy status. This waiver applies only to currently recognized programs. Any NAMAC recognized program applying for Candidacy after March 31, 2023, will be required to submit documentation for review, and the accompanying fee to apply for Eligibility.

Accreditation Fee Reduction

We have reduced our accreditation fees for 2022 and 2023. In consideration of the feedback we received from this community, and through the donations we’ve received to date, our Board has agreed to an overall reduction in the fees for initial accreditation. We have also been able to offer a considerable discount to schools with multiple programs who wish to apply for accreditation.

Upcoming Webinar Series

NAMAC is developing a series of informational webinars in which we will explore topics related to the importance of accreditation for the advancement of Ayurvedic education in the United States. These events will be brief, helpful sessions aimed at Ayurvedic education programs, students, and supporters of Ayurveda.

As we launch our first monthly newsletter and, in addition, begin a new year, I am reflecting on the past 18 months since NAMAC was officially established. We have made significant accomplishments as we work to provide professional standardization of Ayurvedic education. 2023 is poised to be an even bigger year for us, with increasing school engagement and program support.

Several NAMAC-recognized schools are ready to move into Candidacy status and we celebrate their achievements. Our goal for this year is to help all Ayurvedic education programs rise to their greatest potential through accreditation.

As we expand our reach and develop more resources and programming, please share our newsletters widely, forward our news, events, and email to your Ayurvedic community, and sign up for updates on our website.
