I'm pleased to provide an update on AAC’s August achievements as we continue to drive our mission forward. Most notably, the Board of Directors and administration gathered this month for the AAC Annual Meeting. We are working to continue developing fundraising and partnership opportunities to strengthen our network of donors and supporters. In addition, a SWOT analysis will be conducted over the coming months to provide a clear perspective as we create the 2024 Strategic Plan for the organization. We will also be sharing the 2022-2023 Annual Report later this year.

Finally, I recently participated in a panel discussion for NAMA’s “Ayurveda in the USA” series. The topic of the evening was Why is Board Certification and Accreditation in Ayurveda Important? and it was a lively and inspiring conversation as we explored the great value and importance of board certification and accreditation for the profession of Ayurveda. You can find a link to the recording later in this newsletter.

As of August 30, the AAC has 10 schools with a total of 18 programs in Candidacy for Accreditation. We anticipate another 5 five programs to enter candidacy by the Fall. This is truly remarkable and speaks to the level of commitment these programs have made to their students and the future of Ayurvedic medicine in the US.

These webinars are provided for candidate programs to assist in developing their self-study reports as part of the accreditation process. The recordings of these sessions, along with supporting documentation, are available to candidate programs on the dedicated resource page on our website. These presentations include time for open discussion and Q+A with participants and AAC’s Executive Director, Dr. Lisa Cavallaro.
